1. Installation & Setup
-
Who can install the ventilation unit?FreshAir provides an installation service.
-
Do I need to install ducting throughout my entire house? No. Our heat recovery ventilation (HRV) systems do not require any air ducts at all. They are installed directly through the external wall of the specific room you wish to serve (for example, a damp bedroom or living room), making them the ideal solution for retrofitting existing homes.
2. Performance & Running Costs
-
Will it increase my electricity bill?Unlike portable dehumidifiers that draw 200W–500W and heavily inflate energy bills, our units feature ultra-efficient DC motors. Running continuously on trickle mode, they consume just 2W to 5W. This costs merely a few pence per day to run.
-
Will it blow freezing drafts into my room during winter?
Absolutely not. The key feature of these units is the ceramic heat exchanger. When warm, stale air is removed from the room, it heats the ceramic core. When the fan reverses direction to draw in fresh outside air, it absorbs the stored heat (recovering up to 90 per cent of the heat). You get fresh oxygen at a temperature close to room temperature.
-
Is it too loud for a bedroom? Our units are designed for residential use. In night mode, the noise level drops to 13–24 dB, which is quieter than the ticking of a clock or a whisper.
3. Results, Shipping & Warranty
-
Will this permanently stop black mould and window condensation?Yes. Mould and condensation thrive in conditions of stagnant, damp air. By continuously removing excess moisture and replacing it with fresh, dry air, our devices eliminate the conditions necessary for mould to grow. This permanently eliminates the root cause of the problem, rather than simply masking it, as, for example, bleaching sprays do.

What is your warranty policy? We stand behind the quality of our products. All our ventilation units come with a standard manufacturer’s warranty covering technical faults or mechanical defects.
